It has to be plugged in into a 110v - 220v wall outlet to work, the light projector comes with a USB C cable in the box, you can connect your light projector to the adapter via the provided USB C cable, and make sure you use the 5V USB power adapter. Actually, you would caution using an adapter with a higher voltage or plugging it into an outlet with a higher voltage because you run the risk of frying the projector.

No. It does not look distorted...the "nebulae" are a sort of soft moving fold of colors, they look fine. The "stars" are green laser beams, they are very sharp and so bright I can see them fine on a 20 foot entry hall ceiling even with bright upstairs can lights on. In the dark the effect is lovely for both nebulae and stars at 20 feet on a WHITE celiing.situations.
